Tara M. Sullivan, a 1993 graduate of St. Francis High School, has been named a University of Arizona Honors Research Scholar for clinical research at UA's School of Medicine. Sullivan is a junior majoring in biochemistry and she will apply the scholarship to her work next year.

Six local high school seniors have been awarded $2,000 National Merit Scholarships. They include Los Altos residents David Chen (Los Altos High), James Kim (Mountain View High), Sharon Kwan (Castilleja High) and Jocelyn Wiener (LAHS), along with Mountain View residents Sara Petersen (St. Francis High) and Toki Rehder (LAHS).
