Headline: 'Picnic in the Plaza' concert series under way

It's about time that sun started shining and with it ushers in Picnic in the Plaza Summer Concerts series for 1995. Grab a lunch, pull up a lawn chair and enjoy the variety of music the first and third Thursdays of each month beginning Thursday. The concerts are sponsored by Seville Properties and The Los Altos Village Association.

Citibank is providing seating for the concerts to the first 50 people that attend to get their early. Concerts begin at noon and run through 1 p.m. The premier concert will feature contemporary country and pop music artist, Fred McCarty, who has performed locally and at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. McCarty and Co., his full band, will be performing at the 16h Annual Arts & Wine Festival to be held July 8 and 9.

Subsequent concerts will feature: Los Altan Mike Nortchutt, acoustic guitar, June 15; Tony Miles, Jamaican reggae, July 6; Zydeco Flames Duo, July 20; Los Altans Mellbrook Duo, classical flute and harp, Aug. 3; and String of Pearls, jazz and swing, Aug. 17.
