For 38 years, the agency has also provided a luncheon to honor all the volunteers, corporations and community groups that provide the money and the help to make it possible for CSA to meet and direct those needs and services for the community. Outgoing president Marge Bruno said her seven years on the board have been satisfying and gratifying, but there is still a need to do more for the young people in the community. Thomas Pamilla, CSA executive director, told the luncheon participants that CSA members are "the people who care." "These are the people who are outraged by watching people trying to survive. The system is overworked. Our staff has seen their share of tragedy and unknowingly have saved numerous lives. We need our heroes and we have them here in this room," he said. Pamilla said CSA is trying to respond to ever-changing community needs, but more help is needed. "There are lot of honest and good people out there trying to make it. We are doing our share, but we need legislation to help them, too," Pamilla said.
