The restaurant, I Fratelli, will be located at 288 Main St., in an existing one-story building which the city has designated as a historic landmark. The building is currently occupied by the Alicia Collection, an art gallery.I Fratelli will be an upscale Italian restaurant. The owners plan to build a loft in the restaurant which will seat 20 people. There are already two I Fratelli restaurants in San Francisco, which the partners say do great business. In other news, the city council has approved design review for additions and modifications to the Town Crier Building at 140 Main St. The building housed the Los Altos Town Crier, The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop, the House of Daniel Beauty Shop and a few offices on the second floor. After the proposed remodeling, the first floor would be primarily reserved for retail space although the Town Crier's reception/lobby and classified advertising desk will occupy a small space on the 4,000 square foot floor plan. All of the second floor of the building will be occupied by the Town Crier. Completion of the remodeling is scheduled for Oct. 1. |
