Jean and Charles Cook, 50 years

Jean and Charles Cook celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 6 with a garden buffet reception at their home that was attended by more than 120 friends and relatives.

Hosts for the event were their daughters: Sally Oliver of Reno, Nev., and Nancy Geoghegan of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The couple was married May 6, 1945 at the bride's parents' residence in Lincoln, Neb.

Mr. Cook is retired from SRI International in Menlo Park and Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco. He was president of the Los Altos School Board from 1965-68.

Mrs. Cook is a homemaker, a 50-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a busy volunteer for many organizations.

Together, they currently travel the world on assignments with I.E.S.C., E.S.C. and SCORE. They are residents of Los Altos for more than 40 years and are charter members of Foothills Congregational Church.
