They will present one of their winning selections, "Sunny," arranged by former Foothill student Michele Weir. Two former solo singers from the Fanfairs, Todd Gilbert and Debbie Sardi, will also return for the "Fanfairwell" concert. Gilbert, who works as solo singer and guitarist in Half Moon Bay and Moss Beach, as well as throughout the Bay Area, never left Foothill, since he is warehouse supervisor of the college. Sardi, a well-known interpreter of jazz standards, has worked as lead singer with many big bands and appeared regularly at the Monterey Whaling Company for many years. Sardi and Gilbert will perform solos and team up to present "Moody's Mood for Love," based on the saxophone solo by James Moody to "I'm In The Mood For Love." The rhythm section for the Fanfairwell concert will be Wendy MacBain, piano; Andrew Norton, bass; Jimmy Biala, drms; and Bradford Lee, synthesizer. Fanfairwell is the musical culmination of the year for the college vocal groups, the Fanfairs, the Jazz singers and Nosotras latinas, an Hispanic women's ensemble. Joining them will be jazz and pop solo vocalists with the Wendy MacBain Trio. The 'creme de la creme" of director Nile Norton's Jazz and pop solo voice class will also be featured at the concert.
