Williams started his planning duties June 1. He previously spent four years as planning director for the City of Woodside. Previous to Woodside, Williams spent several years as planning administrator in Rancho Palos Verdes in Southern California. "There is a similarity between Woodside and Los Altos Hills with the high end residential properties and single family homes in both communities. The hillside slopes and geologic restraints are similar." Williams said. Williams' first few days in city hall were spent in reading previous planning reports and driving around town to get acquainted with the area. He is looking forward to help update the general plan for the Town of Los Altos Hills. Public Works Manager Edward Taylor started working for the city May 1. He was previously employed in Redwood City as Public Works Superintendent for the last seven years. A native of Ohio, Taylor worked in Colorado before coming west to Redwood City. He has experience working in municipal management positions for more than 20 years. "It's an interesting transition from Redwood City and a challenge learning the different focus of the community," Taylor said. "It's a pleasant transition getting away from the functions of a larger city you deal with every day."
