Edward Ulrich Jr.

Edward "Duke" Ulrich Jr., died at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, May 29. He was 66.

A native of Philadelphia, he was vice president of sales and marketing at Kent-Landsberg and a very active member of the Los Altos Golf and Country Club. A graduate of Stanford University he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Mr. Ulrich is survived by his wife, Connie J. Ulrich of Sunnyvale. and his children, Linda Ulrich of Washington, D.C. and Gregory Ulrich of Sunnyvale. He is also survived by a sister Janice Reeves of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Services were held June 1 at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries and interment in Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.

The family prefers donations be made in the Duke's memory to the Haverford School, 450 Lancaster Ave. Haverford, Pa. 19041.

Mary McFadden

Mary M. McFadden, a native of Nebraska, died at the San Jose Medical Center May 21. She was 80.

A homemaker for 60 years, she is the widow of the late Lawrence McFadden. She is survived by her children, Lawrence McFadden of Fairfax, Bill McFadden of Nebraska, and Bridget Molina of San Jose. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Forney of Tulsa, Okla., Gertude Kelly of Neb. and Sr. Columba K.S.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 23 at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church through arrangements with the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries. Interment was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos.

Ann Cochran

Ann Cochran, a native of Villa Grove, Ill.., and a 25 year resident of Los Altos Hills, died at her residence May 22 . She was 68.

She was a teacher in the Cupertino School District and a member of O.E.S. in Villa Grove.

She is survived by her husband, Reynold W. Cochran, of Los Altos Hills, and a daughter, Sheryl Ann Cochran, of Los Altos Hills. She is also survived by her parents Charles and Ruth Howard, of Camargo, Ill.., and a brother Charles Theodore Howard, Jr., of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Memorial services were held June 4 at the Palo Alto Unitarian Church under the direction of the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

Williard Lovens

Williard P. Lovens, a native of Spokane, Wash., died at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, May 28. He was 79.

He was club manager of the Moffett Field Officers Club and a member of CMAA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lovens of Los Altos; his daughters Mary Jane Bailey of Palo Alto and Judy Bickell of Yountville; and a son Bill Lovens of Castro Valley.

Services were held June 1 at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries followed by private interment in Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Ethel Sudders

Ethel M. Sudders, a native of Pennsylvania, died at the Mountain View Health Care Center, May 25. She was 102.

A secretary with Egon F. Quilner, she is survived by a niece Elizabeth Liechty of Los Altos.

Services were held May 31 at Saint Timothys Episcopal Church in Mountain View, under the direction of the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

Nancy Lynne Stuart

Nancy Lynne Stuart, a professional photographer for 15 years, died at her residence in Los Altos Hills, May 24. She was 56.

A native of Greenlawn, N.Y., she was involved in the Westwind Barn 4H Handicap Riding Program and the California Rescue Dog Association. She served on the board of the local professional photographers association.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stuart of Los Altos Hills, and her children, Jeffery Stuart of San Diego, Eric Stuart and Christine Stuart both of Los Altos Hills. She is also survived by her mother, Ruth Byers of New York, and her brothers Robert Byers and Bruce Byers, both of New York.

Services were held May 31 at Union Presbyterian of Los Altos under the direction of the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

Edwin Stewart

Edwin H. Stewart Jr. died at the Stanford Medical Center, May 27. He was 73.

An electrical engineer for 41 years, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from MIT in 1943 and his MBA from Harvard in 1947. He was a member of the Stanford Golf Club and active in the I.E.E.E.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stewart of Los Altos Hills, and two sons, Eric Stewart of Anchorage and Michael Stewart of Sunnyvale. He is also survived by his sisters Dr. Virginia Larrabee of Vermont, Dr. Audrey Heinrichs of San Diego and a brother William Stewart of San Raphael.

Services were held June 2 at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries, and interment at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.

The family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 26007 San Jose, 95159.

Janet Meyer

Janet E. Meyer, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, died May 21 in Mountain View.

A graduate of the San Jose State Music Program and an active member of the Los Altos Methodist Church, she sang in the choir since its inception and was one of the church's first organists. She had a keen interest in the music program at the church as well as music in general. She was also a member of the PEO Chapter in QE in Los Altos.

She is survived by her husband John, a son Earl, a daughter Carol and her sister June Powell of Madera and her grandsons.

A memorial service was held May 30 at the United Methodist Church in Los Altos under the direction of the Spangler Mortuaries.

The family prefers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the United Methodist Church, or the Mid Peninsula Hospice.
