Live music and complimentary refreshments also will be featured. Artists, galleries and art collectors from Los Altos and communities near and far have already donated close to 100 artworks, including paintings, sculpture, photography, craftwork and wearable art, to benefit CHAC. The auction of a few special pieces will follow the preview hour (2-3 p.m.). The drawing will then begin (3:50 p.m.), ending with a grand prize drawing. Ticket bearers not present during the drawing may choose their pieces from the art remaining at the end of the event at the CHAC office, 711 Church St. in Mountain View, during the following week. Bruce Arnold, CHAC events coordinator, suggested buying tickets early since the number of tickets sold cannot exceed the number of art pieces available for the drawing. He also asks everyone to check studios, attics, basements and closets for artworks to donate (minimum value of $35). All art donations are tax deductible. Call CHAC at 965-2020 for tickets and to donate art. CHAC, a local non-profit agency, has been providing substance abuse prevention counseling and education to children and their families in the schools and communities of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills since 1973. CHAC must raise 25-30 percent of its annual budget from community support. Art To Go Two is an important part of that effort, organizers said. |
