Gallery 9 was started by nine artists at a tiny gallery in Menlo Park. The Gallery moved to its present location in Los Altos in 1973.

The two month exhibition will contain works by the 28 current members of the Gallery, as well as works by five of the founding members. Those founding members are no longer active members of Gallery 9.

Gallery 9 is supported by monthly dues from members. The gallery takes no commission on sales from members and the members staff the gallery on a rotating basis. There is no paid director.

Artwork of the members includes oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, etchings, monoprints, photographs, woven baskets, wearable art and jewelry.
