Vacancies on LAH Planning Commission

With the terms of Emily Chan and Steve Finn expiring June 30, Los Altos Hills city clerk Pat Dowd is accepting volunteers who will be appointed to the planning commission at the July 5 City Council meeting.

As of Friday, the following residents had applied for appointment to the planning commission: Jay Jenson, Guyton Jinkerson, Robert Lafkin, Richard Aurelio and Austin Vanchieri. Emily Chan and Steve Finn have both re-applied for appointment.

The planning commission is a seven-member body that determines the best and highest land uses and recommends their results to the City Council for action.

Papers filed to annex Quarry Hills

The town of Los Altos Hills filed an application with the Santa Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) to expand the town of Los Altos Hills urban service area to include properties of the proposed Quarry Hills subdivision of 23 lots on 78 acres and several smaller adjoining residential properties.

The procedure is necessary and acts as a prelude to annexation to the town.

Palo Alto continues animal services

The Los Altos Hills City Council has adopted a resolution to continue the services of the city of Palo Alto for animal control services.

The services include removal of dead animals from public property, dog licensing and other animal complaints.

The new contract increases the cost of providing the service by 2.5 percent to $30,200 per year.
