Murphy's hosting month-long Chefs Who Care benefit for CSA

Murphy's Pizza Take and Bake will host a monthlong "Chefs Who Care" event at its Los Altos store to benefit the Community Kitchen of Community Services Agency. The Community Kitchen provides free hot meals four nights a week to homeless and low-income individuals and families.

During this month, customers presenting "Chefs Who Care" coupons (see ad elsewhere in this paper), Murphy's will donate half the price of the order directly to the kitchen. Additional coupons will be available at the store upon request.

Dave Leary, for nine years the owner of Murphy's, said he wanted to participate in the "Chefs Who Care" program because he has six children and wants to set an example for them. "You can best teach by example," he said.

To order a pizza and donate to CSA, call (415) 949-5200. Murphy's Pizza Take and Bake is located at 630A Los Altos Rancho Shopping Center, located at Foothill Expressway and Springer Road. Murphy's hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
