Christie's Great Estates name Cornish & Carey exclusive affiliate

Cornish & Carey Residential Real Estate has been selected as San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara County's executive affiliate of Christie's Great Estates, Inc. a newly formed subsidiary of Christie's International, the world's largest fine arts auction house.

Christie's recently acquired Great Estates Inc., the largest network of independent real estate brokers specializing in the sale of prestigious properties. Christie's Great Estates encompasses 145 offices and 7,000 estate agents offering local expertise and worldwide connections.

"Cornish & Carey's reputation for handling luxury properties in Santa Clara/San Mateo County was a critical factor contributing to our selection of them as an exclusive affiliate," said Kay Coughlin, president of the new venture who founded Great Estates in 1987. "We look forward to expanding their leadership position and broadening our reach and services through Christie's 103 offices worldwide."

Cornish & Carey Residential Real Estate, founded in 1935, is the largest independent real estate firm in Northern California. The company has more than 800 agents in 22 offices in Santa Clara, San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.

Cornish & Carey is represented locally by an office at 110 First St. in Los Altos.
