As of late last week, two additional Los Altos residents have taken out papers to run for the three city council seats up for grabs this November.

That brings to six the number of residents who have taken out papers for the Nov. 7 election, said Los Altos City Clerk Carol Scharz.

The two new possible candidates are residents Louis Becker and Francis LaPoll, Scharz reported.

Those who had already taken out papers are Bob Norton, Kris Casto, Janet Dobson and Gloria Bauer.

Two-term incumbents David Reeder, Marge Bruno and Ted Laliotis have all said that they will not run again.

Assuming they don't take out papers to run for re-election, the filing deadline is Aug. 16, Scharz said.

The council has five members. Each is elected for a four-year term.

Council member Patti Williams and Mayor Bob Gray both won their seats in the election two years ago and are not up for re-election. It is Williams' second term and Gray's first.

The council has a policy limiting council members to two terms, although it is not legally binding.
