A new (old) logo for the Town Crier

printer friendly version Print this story

Logos come and logos go. In the 47 years of the Town Crier's existence, the logo type for the name has changed at least six times. And now we have made the final change for the logo, which is to reach back at least 100 years to use a very traditional typeface for newspapers titles known as "Olde English." Nearly every large daily in the United States uses this style.

The Town Crier has a long history of serving Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and parts of Mountain View. One of the largest weeklies in Northern California, it is a professional newspaper in every sense and we want our logo to reflect that image. If you have comments about the new look, call the Town Crier Feedback Phone, 948-9000 (press 7), and leave a message.
