According to Los Altos City Clerk Carol Scharz, the Los Altos City Council candidate slate is: Gloria Bauer, Lou Becker, Kris Casto, Janet Dobson, Francis LaPoll and Bob Norton. The six City Council candidates will vie for three seats since two-term incumbents Marge Bruno, Ted Laliotis and David Reeder all have declined to run again. The council has a voluntary policy limiting council members to two terms. All the incumbents have adhered to the policy. Laliotis is bidding for a state assembly seat next year. Mayor Bob Gray and council member Patricia Williams were elected to the council two years ago and are not up for re-election. Both Gray and Williams are serving their first terms. In the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, all three incumbents sought re-election. They are Mary Mason and Judy Moss, both of Los Altos, and Dolores Sandaval. They will be joined on the slate by newcomer Kevin Murray of Palo Alto. Two incumbents, Philip Faillace and Terri Sachs, were uncontested in the Los Altos School District election. With no challengers, they will retain their positions for the next four years. Los Altos Hills has no scheduled election this year. The next Los Altos Hills City Council election will be November 1996. |
