Pear Street art sale deemed a big success

printer friendly version Print this story

Art aficionados filled the Pear Street Studio in Mountain View Aug. 5-6 to see and negotiate for some 400 pieces of artwork.

The work on display was created by 18 local artists, all either students or ex-students of the Packard Art Studio of Los Altos.

Packard said "a little better than 50 percent of the work sold" and some commissions were contracted.

"It was an exciting two days and we are going to do it again next year," she said. "We hope everyone will be watching for our third annual sale in 1996."

The artwork at the studio, owned by artist Shari Steele, included were oils, acrylics, watercolors and inks. There were florals, landscapes, figures and still-lifes, and prices ranged from $5 to $450.
