Alfred W. Fields

Alfred Fields, a native of Ohio, died Aug. 26 at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. He was 81.

A chief with the United States Navy, he was a member of the Shriners, Sunnyvale Shrine Comics, American Legion, The Fleet Reserve and the Peninsula Widow-Widowers Association.

He is survived by his children, Russell Fields of Stockton, Bruce Fields of Fremont, Wayne Fields of San Jose and June Brown of Milpitas; and a loving companion, Nadine Ethier of Los Altos.

Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries. Private interment was in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
