Gertrude Pauline Wessel

Gertrude Pauline Wessel, a native of St. Louis, died July 27. She studied the pipe organ at University of Pacific in Stockton and was a church organist for more than 50 years, and an honorary member of the American Guild of Organists. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mountain View.

She is survived by daughter Susan Besser of Los Altos, and her late sons Michael Wessel in Vietnam and Edward Jr. of Good Shepherd of Visalia.

Memorial services were held July 30 at Sunnyview Lutheran Home in Cupertino and on Aug. 13 at St. Luke's Luthern Church in Reno, Nev.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Good Shepherd Fund, P.O. Box 629 Santa Cruz 95061.
