Located along Third Street between Bank of the West and Bank of Los Altos, Children's Alley events will begin with a fall fashion show for children by Marion Jackston's from 11 a.m. to noon on Oct. 7. The Children's Alley also includes a petting zoo with a miniature donkey, lambs, chickens and other tame creatures. Other features are an air-filled bouncing playhouse, face painting by Bouncy, hand-molding by "Imagine More," and children's carnival activities run by the Parent Teachers Associations from local schools. There will also be interactive booths sponsored by the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, a toy demonstration by Discovery Toys of Los Altos and an interactive recycling booth by the Los Altos Garbage Company. A Children's Stage at the festival will feature live entertainment by numerous performers, including KTVU's Cotton Candy Express and Bucky Beaver, Sunday at 2 p.m. Other featured performers are Lisa Atkinson from noon to 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 7, followed by Jay the Juggler, Dan Goldensohn, The San Jose Dance Theatre, a karate demonstration and Daffy Dave. Sunday the shop opens with a Snapdragon Puppet Show, followed by Pam Donkin, Magic Mike, Cotton Candy Express, Bonnie Lockhart and a fashion show by Young Villagers. Festival visitors also are encouraged to enter a scarecrow contest on Oct. 7. Judging will be scaled on the funniest, scariest and the most original. Prizes will be awarded for numerous categories.
