Town Crier Staff Report

The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce has gone country with the highlight event of this year's fall art and wine festival Oct. 7-8.

With the festival remaining open in the evenings for the first time, the Chamber is offering a "Los Altos Family Hoedown" from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 in the South Parking Plaza on San Antonio Road in downtown Los Altos.

The dining and dancing festivities will start with a barbecue featuring Armadillo Willy's and Draeger's Market providing the food. The first 500 people to the western affair will be given free bandannas to establish the Western atmosphere.

Music by the popular Booher Family Band will provide music for line dancing and dance demonstrations. Prizes will be awarded for the best dancers in a western swing dance contest and prizes will be offered for the best authentic western costumes.

The cost for adults is $15 each and children $5. Tickets can be purchased in downtown Los Altos at the Chamber of Commerce, Draeger's Market, Eureka Bank, Heintzelman's Bookstore, Linden Tree, Los Altos Card & Party, Marion Jackston's, Pen West Realtors, Skip's Pizza and Young Villagers.

Tickets can also be purchased in Rancho Shopping Center at Gallery Michael, Rancho Video and Loyola Market in Loyola Corners.

The Los Altos Family Hoedown is sponsored by Casto Roofing, Draeger's and Power Promotions. For more information, call 948-1455.
