The six candidates, Gloria Bauer, Louis Becker, Kris Casto, Janet Dobson, Francis LaPoll and Bob Norton, are running for the Nov. 7 election.

The League of Women Voters, Los Altos-Mountain view area, and the local branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) are co-sponsoring the next forum, scheduled for 7:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Los Altos City Hall, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

Other forums include a 9-10:30 a.m., Oct. 24, discussion sponsored by the Senior Coordinating Council in the multipurpose room at Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave.; and an 8:30-9:30 a.m., Oct. 27, forum sponsored by Pen West Realtors at the multipurpose room at Hillview Center.

At the League/AAUW forum, each candidate is scheduled to speak for five minutes on the issues and his or her qualifications for the position. Then members of the audience are invited to ask questions. Each question may be directed to one candidate or all candidates.

A time limit is imposed on responses to have time for as many questions as possible from the floor within a period of about one hour. At the end of the evening, each candidate will have two minutes to make a closing statement.
