San-Shyong Chen, a native of Taiwan, died Sept. 21 at Stanford Medical Center. He was 53.

An engineer with Exar Company, he is survived by his wife, Ruth Chen of Los Altos. Funeral services were held Sept. 25 at
the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.
