Jack Prince Gibson

Jack Prince Gibson, a native of Iowa, died Sept. 20 in Palo Alto Nursing Center. He was 76.

Mr. Gibson worked as a landscape architect for 48 years, 15 of those years he was employed by the Department of the Navy. He was an officer in the Navy during World War II and survived the Normandy invasion and the war in the Philippines.

He was a member of the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of the Palo Alto Art Club. He was also a talented artist.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel A. Gibson of Mountain View; daughters Kathryn Dubro of Rohnert Park, Nancy Peters of San Jose, Jacquelyn Grey of Bozeman, Mont. and Anita Brown of San Diego; a son, Tim Gibson of Newark; and two brothers, DeWitt Gibson of Paradise Valley, Ariz. and William Gibson of Carolina Beach, NC.

A memorial service was held Sept. 22 in Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos.
