Gale Gothberg Whisnand

Gale Gothberg Whisnand died Sept. 20 at her residence in Bakersfield. She was 41.

Mrs. Whisnand was a graduate of Awalt High School in Mountain View, Foothill College in Los Altos Hills and received a bachelors degree in linguistics and teaching credential from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Mrs. Whisnand, who taught school in Kern County from 1979-1983, then back to teaching in 1993 until her death, is survived by her children, Tiffany Enid and Seth Augustus; former husband, Darryl Whisnand of Bakersfield; brothers, Martin Gothberg of Santa Clara and Walter Gothberg of Sacramento; and mother, Enid Gothberg Dekkert of Carmel.
