PTA groups focus on educational issues, as well as health, safety, parent education and legislation relating to school.The PTAs comprises parents, teachers and concerned citizens who work together to improve the education and quality of life for children. As a member, you will learn what is happening in our schools, get to meet students, contribute to their knowledge and widen their horizons by becoming involved in a volunteer program. "We would like to use the special skills, creativity and knowledge of our community to enrich the lives of our young student population," said Elaine Clark, spokesperson for the Mountain View-Los Altos PTA Council. "Our goals this year are to expand opportunities for idea exchanges and leadership training, to increase awareness and to provide support for our three school districts." Los Altos and Mountain View residents are invited to call any one of the following neighborhood schools - Almond, Blach, Bubb, Builis, Egan, Graham, Landels, Loyola, Monta Loma, Oak, Santa Rita, or Springer, and ask for the PTA Membership Chair to answer questions about what, when, where or how to become involved.
