Frightfully fine art shown at Rancho in Los Altos

printer friendly version Print this story

Dozens of artists and crafts people from throughout California will exhibit their work between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Friday through Sunday at Rancho Shopping Center. The pre-Halloween "Frightfully Fine Arts & Crafts Festival" is sponsored by the Rancho Merchant's Association and produced by Pacific Fine Art Festival. Rancho Shopping Center is located on Foothill Expressway and Springer and Magdalena roads in Los Altos.

Virtually all media will be represented from glass to wood, oils to watercolors and dolls and beads.

A public reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 28 at Gallery Michael located near Sanwa Bank in the rustic-style shopping center. Free Halloween face and hand painting will be featured during the reception. A featured artist at the three-day art show, Lenore Masterson of Marina, will introduce her new "Ghost Funk" whimsical art at the Rancho show.

Masterson's cartooning is always original. She does not produce prints. The subjects she is becoming well-known for include circus clowns, bears, frogs and hot-air balloons. She will explore "funk art" for the first time at Rancho's "Frightfully Fine" shop. Masterson is a custom cartoonist and is able to take an order early in the show and deliver it in a day or two before returning to her home in the Monterey Bay Area.
