Their children and grand children sponsored the celebration for their parents. As a young couple, the Dames were married in Maryland Oct. 21 1945. Allen was at the U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. and Elizabeth was a statistician for the government. Once they met they found out they went to the same high school in Washington, DC. The Dames moved to Los Altos in 1966 with their four children. They built a house on Gordon Way in which they still live. Their children went through the Los Altos school system and on to college. When Mr. Dame's naval career was over, he worked for Lockheed and retired from there in 1988. Mrs. Dame was a homemaker and stayed home to raise the children. David and Patricia Thomas, 25 yearsDavid Vernon Thomas and his wife, Patricia, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Oct. 30. Their seven children participated in the event. The Thomas' have lived in Los Altos for many years. Dr. Thomas, a former professor at Stanford University Medical School was a member of the anesthesiology staff of El Camino Hospital until his retirement at the age of 72. During his service at El Camino Hospital, he was Director of the Department of Respiratory Medicine and Chief of the Department of Anesthesia. Patricia, a graduate of the Foothill College Nursing Program, worked in the recovery room at El Camino Hospital. After a graduate course at the University of California at San Francisco, she worked several years as a nurse-practitioner at the Family Planning Clinic in Sunnyvale. |
