The National Sporting Goods Association counts 70 million walkers and 14 million of them call walking their primary mode of exercise. So Iknoian wrote a book "Fitness Walking." Iknoian is a Nike fitness athlete and educator and the easy-to-use guide takes the guesswork out of working out. The book shows exercisers of all backgrounds how to tailor a walking program to their own needs and abilities. The book contains 60 color-coded walking workouts that can be used by anyone to achieve his or her fitness goals, regardless of age or fitness level. "Fitness Walking" is part of the Fitness Spectrum Series from Human Kinetics that retails for $14.95. Heintzelman's Bookstore is located at 205 State St., Los Altos.
