Almond School

craft faire

Artists and craftspeople are needed to sell their handmade items at the Almond School Craft Faire, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9 at Almond Elementary School, 550 Almond Ave., in Los Altos.

An 8-by-8 space inside the multipurpose room is available for a $35 fee.

Recycling contest

today at Foothill

To promote recycling awareness at Foothill College this fall, Los Altos Garbage Company (LAGCo) will sponsor "Can-Do!" recycling races for students today from noon to 1 p.m. in the Main Quad.

Campus clubs and groups will pull together teams of 5-10 players to compete in PETE Bowling, the De-Can-A-Thon, Banana Peel to Compost Relay, Team Recycling Toss, and Dash and Recycle. LAGCo has donated cash prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.
