Gratiot honored at Nov. 17 celebration Los Altos School District Superintendent Marge Gratiot, recently named California Superintendent of the Year, will be honored at a community celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the University Club, 3277 Miranda Ave., in Palo Alto.

The Association of California School Administrators selected Gratiot, previously named Santa Clara County Superintendent of the Year, because of the child-centered nature of her accomplishments, the high academic standards maintained by the district and a district history of high test scores.

Active in Los Altos community affairs, Gratiot is a member of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Los Altos and serves as chairwoman of the Stanford University Superintendents' Roundtable.

The community celebration is open to the public. Reservations are required and organizers are asking for a $10 donation. Call Terri Sachs at 967-3193 to RSVP by Nov. 14.
