Dorothy Schuknecht

Dorothy Schuknecht, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Nov. 10 in Mountain View. As the wife of a career serviceman, she traveled widely in her 73 years, making her home in Tokyo, Japan, Naples, Italy, and Fort Monmouth, NJ. Active in the community and her children's lives, she served as den mother, Brownie and Girl Scout leaders as well as a Red Cross volunteer and water safety instructor. A member of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Los Gatos, and Eatontown Chapter No. 266 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd C. Schuknecht , a son Lloyd C. Schuknecht III, and daughters Cynthia L. Sweeney and Christina M. Schuknecht Little.

A memorial service was held at the Los Altos United Methodist Church .

The family prefers donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
