High school advisory council looks at honors, scholarships

Los Altos High School's Community Advisory Council (CAC) invites the community to its monthly meeting tonight from 7:30-9 in the LAHS band room.

The topic of this month's meeting will be "Honors, Awards, and Scholarships." Principal David Brazer, Wynne Satterwhite, Maryann Smetzer and Joanne Miyhara will discuss the philosophy of Los Altos High School in the recognition of student academic and service achievements. The evening will include a presentation and panel discussion on the selection criteria, and availability of Department Awards (Math, Science, English, history, etc.) Honor rolls, National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, and Corporate and service scholarships and awards.

Parents of middle school and high school students are invited to attend this CAC meeting to share ideas and offer suggestions of potential improvements. The meeting is open to the public.
