The activity guide describes the programs and classes planned for the winter 1996 session of classes as well as the current fall 1995 session. Residents were urged to save the activity guide which describes programs and classes for the winter 1996 session for reference.Most winter classes will begin the week of Jan. 8, 1996. A limited number of copies of the fall/winter activity guide are available for pick-up at the recreation department office, 97 Hillview Ave., City Hall or at the public libraries in Los Altos. Walk-in registration is now being taken at the Los Altos Recreation Department for winter classes and programs. Recreation office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. The activity guide describes on-going recreation classes and programs for every family member from pre-school to senior, and new programs for winter, 1996 sessions. Classes for winter include: tennis fitness programs beginning acting classes, music and dance classes English horsemanship driver education - classroom requirements, bellydancing, country western line dance classes, couples workshops and open auditions for Los Altos Youth Theatre's upcoming production of "Nicholas Nickleby"; New after-school programs for junior high students at Egan and Blach schools, including cooking, woodworking and homework center; ballroom dance classes in cha-cha, fox trot and salsa/mambo; basic scuba diving; dog obedience; and "Little Bloomers" musical circle time, exploratory arts or hands-on music and art fun shops.
