John S. Millar , a native of Oak Park, Ill., died at Pilgrim Haven Dec. 11 after a long illness. He was 75.

A Los Altos resident since 1953, he was a graduate of San Jose State Business School and was elected to the honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma. A World War II veteran, he spent his time on a destroyer and a battleship in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Millar was purchasing manager for Schlage Lock Company in South San Francisco until his retirement. He then worked as a management consultant for the Environmental Protection Agency in San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katharine Millar of Los Altos, his sons, John Jr. of Rocklin and Douglas, and a daughter, Martha Millar of Connecticut.
