Man found guilty of attack on Los Altos officer

The Mountain View man who was stopped by a Los Altos police officer for speeding and who then allegedly attacked the officer, was found guilty last Friday of all three criminal charges against him: assaulting the officer, attempting to remove the officer's weapon (baton) and resisting arrest.

Developer John Vidovich's struggle to build his Quarry Hills subdivision cleared a major hurdle last week when the Los Altos Hills City Council ruled that Stronebrook Drive, which goes through the property, would not be a through road to Magdalena Avenue.

Mr. Robertson retired from Pacific Bell in 1972 and joined his wife, Lucille in the real estate business. In 1977 they both retired to travel. He was a Past Master of Palo Alto Masonic Lodge No. 346, and Past President of the North County Scottish Rite Club. He also served nine years on the Board of Trustees of the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, including one year as chairman.

Cora De Le Pena, the instructor, is a lisensed psychologist trained in childbirth preparation. She taught for five years in Mexico City, and three years to Spanish speaking patients at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City. All of her materials are in Spanish and English. The course is being taught Monday evenings, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at the Mountain View Community Center, 201 Rengstorff Ave., in Mountain View.

Freelen was affiliated with the Community School of Music & Arts for more than 10 years, serving on the school's board of directors, including terms as chair and vice-chair. "Maryce Freelen had tremendous effect on CSMA. Not only did her direct support of CSMA's Arts in Action and Music in Action programs ensure that elementary school children in this entire community receive arts education, but under her leadership, our endowment fund was established," said executive director Andrea S. Long time Los Altos residents celebrate their 50th anniversary

The couple met in 1937 at Estes Park Chalet Ranch in Estes Park, Colo., where T.E. Spencer was employed as a summer bellhop job at the resort. Peggy was there on a family vacation. They were married Jan. 25, 1946 in New York City, lived in Washington, D.C. until 1956, and then moved to Los Altos in 1958.

The four-student teams, tackling a variety of algebra and geometry problems, took top honors out of 17 competing teams representing areas from South San Francisco to Cupertino.
