Motivational speaker, victor of war on fat, to highlight AAUW meeting

Those looking to improve communication skills, time management, self-esteem, or use humor to cope, are welcome to attend today's annual friendship breakfast sponsored by the Los Altos-Mountain View branch of the American Association of University Women.

Motivational speaker Claire Arand is scheduled to expand on these subjects. Members, their guests and the public are invited to attend the event 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Michael's at Shoreline Park in Mountain View.

Arand has been a motivational speaker and weight control expert for more than 24 years. After conquering her "war on fat" at age 35, Arand pursued a career in professional modeling. At 43, she began her formal education at De Anza College and went on to San Jose State University, where she majored in psychology.

Her company, Unlimited Potential, was founded in 1975, and since then, Arand has presented her programs at many Bay Area corporations, plus numerous social and church groups throughout the state.
