Local artist exhibits in Town Hall chamber

Los Altos Hills artist Jean McCandless will display her oil paintingsand sculptures in the Los Altos Hills Council Chambers throughMay 31.

McCandless' oil paintings and sculptures are large, abstractand colorful, and some reflect on Asian influence as a resultof working with the celebrated artist Kishi. Bronze sculpturesrun the gamut from small realistic figures and animals to pureabstraction.

She is a graduate of Louisiana State University and did graduatework at the University of California at Berkeley and the San FranciscoArt Institute. She has exhibited her work in solo exhibits aswell as many group exhibitions. Many of her works are in privatecollections and public buildings.
