The activities include the 32nd annual Sertoma Club pancake breakfast,the 49th Kiwanis Pet Parade, the 21st annual two day Los AltosRotary Fine Art in the Park and the Quota Club of Los Altos annualflea market on Sunday. Festivities begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with a breakfast of pancakes,sausages, juice and coffee served to all comers. The Sertoma Clubwill serve its pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morningsin the Chamber of Commerce parking lot, at University Avenue andMain Street, across the street from the Rotary Art in the Parkshow. Price is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. TheSertoma Club is one of the benefactors to local charities includingthe hearing impaired. The Kiwanis Pet Parade starts 10 a.m. at Main and First streets. At 11 a.m. the 21st annual Rotary Club's Art in the Park eventopens with more than 185 selected artists showing their work inLincoln Park across Foothill Expressway and Main Streets. The show will feature watercolors, oils, sculpture, jewelry, photography,ceramics and other unique art forms. The String of Pearls willconduct an outdoor concert in the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Saturday. Premium beer and wines will be available including numerousfood booths to satisfy the hungry observers. The Rotary Art Show continues till 6 p.m. on Saturday and on Sundayis from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will benefit charitableprojects and community organizations In celebration of the 21st anniversary of the Rotary's Art Show,a panel of current and former mayors will hand out the Mayor'sChoice Awards to their favorite artists when the show opens. Winningentries from the Los Altos Rotary "Young at Art" competitionwill also be on display in the Lincoln Park Gazebo. Entries werereceived from five local high schools. First prize of $120 anda second prize of $80 were awarded to each of the five schoolsby the Rotary Club. On Sunday the Quota Club sponsors their annual Flea Market andCraft Care Carnival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The market, with hands-onexhibits for children and adults, extends from Second Street tobeyond Third Street in the parking lots behind Main Street. Morethan 100 booths will be on display with a concentration on children'sitems. The Quota Club proceeds will support disadvantaged women, thehearing impaired and other community groups such as the Los AltosLibrary and the Los Altos Senior Center.
