Lamborghini, the outrageous sports car of unbridled speed, audaciousdesign and window-sticker to match, will be the Featured Marqueat the charity classic car show. More than 25 sleek Lamborghinis,including legendary Countaches, will be fielded according to GilGilfix of the Lamborghini Club of America who is coordinatingthe powerhouse collection for the sponsors, Palo Alto Lions Charitiesand Comerica Bank-California. Approximately 225 antique, vintage, classic, exotic and hight-performacecars also will be showcased, including several entries from LosAltos and Los Altos Hills residents. George and Barbara Frederic of Los Altos will showing a 1913 Gentleman'sRoadster from the Star Manufacturing Co. of Wolverhampton, England.Mickey Jones of Los Altos will showcase a 1955 Jaguar Roadster.Jack and Danna Richard will present a 1928 Ford Model A. O.D.Peterson of Los Altos Hills will offer a 1961 Lincoln four-doorconvertible. Harry Logan will show a 1937 Buick Century SportCoupe. Bryan Brown of Los Altos will present a 1966 Cobra 427Roadster and Claire Thorne of Los Altos will show a 1931 FordModel A Sedan. Sunday's drawing will be for a rare 1986 Lamborghini Super Countach5000 QV, one of 10 imported into the United States. It was donatedto Child Family Health International (CFHI) for use as a fund-raiser.CFHI, which provides free surgery and health car services to childrenand families here and abroad, was founded by Dr. Evaleen Jones,of Stanford Hospital, who is also an emergency room physicianat St. Luke's Hospital, San Francisco. For a donation of $100 per ticket (six for $500) a donor receivesan excellent, once-in-a-lifetime chance of winning the exoticsports car. Not more than 2,500 tickets will be offered. proceedswill be shared with more than 20 charities, grants and causessupported by the Palo Alto Lions Charities. The drawing for winning tickets will be at the conclusion of theawards ceremony at the speakers stand at approximately 4:30 p.m.The winner need not to be present. Other attractions will include "The Gallery of the Greats,"10 prime examples of noteworthy and historic automobiles selectedby Mathews; "A Walk Through the Classics", an informaltour by Sid Colberg, San Francisco, classic car authority; a selectionof vintage bicycles by Ralph Igier, Palo Alto bike collector;antique motorcycles; children's pedal cars; electric and solar-drivencars and special vehicles including a World War II Scout Car fromthe military vehicle collection of Jacques Littlefield, and vintagefire engines.
