Mari Tamburo of Mountain View isthe featured student speaker. Tamburo served as editor of thecollege's student newspaper as well as student representativeto numerous college committees. Foothill training institute ceremony slatedThe achievements of more than 800 students who participate inthe Occupational Training Institute of the Foothill-De Anza studentrecognition ceremony will be spotlighted at the 21st annual OTIceremony at 6:30 p.m. June 27 in the Hinson Campus Center at DeAnza College in Cupertino. Since 1975, the institute has provided occupational training andjob placement services for Santa Clara County residents who areunemployed or underemployed. Instructional activities are designedto address the specific skills needs of the labor market as wellas to enhance the employability of students. OTI programs encompass a range of skills development to accommodatethe changing labor market. The institute offers concentrated trainingfor careers such as medical assistant, accounting clerk, biotechnician,computer service repair technician and child development assistant.
