International exchange students need a home

printer friendly version Print this story

Local families interested in hearing a new language, tasting another culture and seeing how easy it is to make new friends are invited to learn more about hosting a Youth For Understanding (YFU) International Exchange student from one of more than 30 countries.

Each year, thousands of American families welcome YFU students into their homes. Many kinds of families are selected to host YFU students: married couples with or without children and single parents. YFU host families provide room, board, guidance and the experience of what everyday life is like in America.

YFU was founded in 1951 as a private, non-profit, educational organization dedicated to international understanding and world peace. For more information, call 1-800-TEENAGER.
