Host families needed

for Brazilian students

Approximately students from Sao Paulo, Brazil will participate in English courses and cultural activities at Foothill College this July. Host families are needed to provide a room and two meals per day in exchange for $550 per student. The students range in age from 13 to 19 are eager to meet their American families.

Mt. View firehouse

new hot spot for teens

The FIREHOUSE, formerly Fire Station No. 1, on the corner of Villa and Franklin Streets in Mountain View is now open to high school students from 7 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday nights during the summer. Thursday nights are 'unplugged' at the FIREHOUSE. Teens can play video games, pool and basketball while listening to music or watching television. Local bands will entertain on Friday nights.

All activities at the FIREHOUSE are free of charge. Incoming freshman and current high school students are eligible to attend.

Old Eagle alumni

picnic meetings

The alumni committee will be meeting again this year to plan for our 'old' Mountain View Union High School 'Eagle' Alumni picnic taking place at Cuesta Park on Oct. 5. Upcoming planning meetings will be on Aug. 7, Sept. 11 and 25 at 7 p.m. at Mountain View High School in the quad.
