Town Crier Staff Report

John DiCello feels the Los Altos Pony Baseball program is growing and improving each year. And his 13-14-year-old all-stars showed signs of this at the recent sectionals in Campbell.

Although it lost two games - 5-4 to Morgan Hill and 4-1 to Merced - to close out the season, the coach was pleased with his team's play.

Against Morgan Hill, Mike Saign, Chris Barsi and David Attard had clutch hits and Danny Graviano supplied five innings of fine pitching.

And keeping the locals close in the Merced game was the hitting of Tyler Ingersoll, pitching of Brian Love and fielding of Graviano and Eric Cherrstrom.

MUSTANGS: Los Altos Pony's mustang "A" all-star squad was one of the first local teams in its division to qualify for the Northern Regionals in a while, and proved to be competitive the whole way. In the tournament in Rodeo two weeks ago, the locals finished their season with a 15-7 win over Blossom Valley and a pair of 6-3 losses to Richmond and Seaside.

BRONCOS: Pony's bronco "1" team also finished off its all-star run with a 10-7 loss to San Jose Pacific last week in the Northern Regionals. John Abramo and Chad Arney hit well, but couldn't bring Los Altos back from an early deficit.
