Los Altos

Senior Center

Sept.13: 1 p.m., movie in room 11. See the screen adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, "Sense and Sensibility."

Sept. 25: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., mammogram screening by the San Francisco Medical Center Mobile Unit. Call for appointment.

Sept. 27: 1 p.m., in room 11, a September birthday and bingo party, featuring bingo, sing-along, and birthday cake.

Sept. 29: noon, the last picnic of the year at Shoup Park, featuring barbecued chicken with fixings. Ye Olde Towne Band will perform at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $3 with an activity card, $6 without.

Mountain View

Senior Center

The Los Altos Senior Center is located at the Hillview Community Center 97 Hillview Ave., in Los Altos. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 948-7483.

The Mountain View Senior Center is located at 266 Escuela Ave., Mountain View. For more information, call 903-6330.

Following is a list of special events for the month:

Sept. 15: Dance, 2-4 p.m. "The Four Pennies and One Token" will be performing favorite dance music. Cost is $3 per person.

Sept. 22: 2 p.m. Slide show with Harry Berland showing the inter-coastal waterway tour in the east. Admission is 50 cents.

Sept. 25: 10 a.m. Senior Coordinating Council. Offer questions and comments about senior issues.

Sept. 26: 10 a.m. Disaster preparedness talk with the Palo Altos Red Cross.

Sept. 29: 2-4 p.m., "Dancing Grandmas" perform. Admission is $1.
