Damon of Los Altos Hills will be inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame at 4 p.m. on Oct. 29 in Charlotte, N.C.Three Los Altos residents received bachelor of science degrees this fall from Boston University. John T. Hannon, II received a degree in broadcasting and film. Rachel B. Marr received her degree cum laude in bilingual education. David Reitman received a MD in medicine. Mountain View resident Katherine W. Ho received a judicial degree in law. Patrick Quaid of Mountain View is a member of the Luther College in Iowa Cathedral Choir for the 1996-97 academic year. Emily Grant, a 20-year-old Campbell resident, was elected president of the De Anza Associated Student Body (DASB) and took office just prior to the beginning of fall quarter. She and the DASB senate oversee and are responsible for DASB's 1996-97 budget of $836,257. Micah Dana Nessan, son of Myron and Sylvia Nessan of Los Altos, has made the dean's list for the third straight year at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva New York. Last year Nessan, a 1993 St. Francis High School, had attended college in Angers France for four months to continue his studies in French and philosophy. This year, he has received his school's L. Thomas and Alice P. Melly Scholarship in recognition of his academic achievements. Additionally, Hobart College has nominated Nessan for a Fulbright scholarship in liberal arts and has requested him to apply for this prestigious opportunity to study abroad for his post graduate work. |
