Letters to the Editor

There is a sign at the entrance to Rancho San Antonio Park that informs the public of the changing closing time conforming to the longer summer and shorter winter days of the year. I'm sure it would be much easier for those who manage the park to have a static closing time year-round, but the park users, especially those who work, benefit greatly as the days lengthen and there is more time to enjoy the trails in the evening. It would be impossible to change the open-closing hour to accommodate each natural occurrence such as meteor showers, eclipses or "blue moons."

Take me back to that old-time Halloween

Every holiday was a joy where I grew up, but Halloween is still one of my favorites. SET AT WELLESLEY: Katie Antypas of Los Altos, the starting setter and co-captain of the Wellesley College women's volleyball team, recently garnered all-tournament honors at the Springfield Invitational. The Mountain View High graduate earned 10 kills, 34 assists, five aces and 12 digs while leading the Blue to their second-place finish. In the latest New England Women's 8 conference release, Antypas ranks third in assists with 390 total and 6.29 per game.
