TUFTS GUY: In his third season as a starting defensive tackle for the Tufts University (Medford, Mass.) football team, Los Altos native Glen Fries has registered 28 tackles, two quarterback pressures, a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception returned for a touchdown. A league all-star four straight years and the team captain at Homestead High, Fries had started 18 games during his career at Tufts, including the last 14 as of Oct. 29. He had 22 tackles as a freshman and 37 tackles and three fumble recoveries as a sophomore. "Glen has done everything we've asked of him this year and last," Coach Bill Samko said of the Dean's List student majoring in political science. "He's very bright and he's a tough kid."
