Door-kicking burglar strikes again

When a Filip Road resident came home about noon Dec. 2, she discovered that her house had been broken into, police said.

A door had been kicked in, in the same way entry was gained during nine burglaries that occurred during the day Oct. 25, 26 and 31 in Los Altos, police said.

"The guy kicking in doors," said Los Altos Police Sgt. Bob Lacey, "he's still out there."

The first seven of the October burglaries were in the south part of town near Grant Road and Fremont Avenue. Then the burglar moved north to Milverton Road, off El Monte, for two more.

A resident on Milverton Road who saw the burglar, described him to police as a tall, heavy man in his 40s who said he was looking for his puppy.
