He was voted team captain this season, and the Gael coaches once again bestowed upon him the Bill Fisher Award, the school's highest honor for leadership and character. The team won all 15 home games Clements started since his sophomore year, including victories over Midwest and Eastern schools and first-time triumphs over UC-Davis and Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo.HOT HOOPSTER: St. Simon School's Aaron Rouleau recently netted the Santa Clara County most valuable player award for seventh- and eighth-grade basketball players. Rouleau, a center, averaged 18 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and five steals per game for the Saints' "B" team, which notched a 8-3 record this season. Rouleau and some of his St. Simon teammates will play in next week's all-star tournament at St. Martin's in San Jose. SOCCER STAR: Heather Phillippe of Los Altos recently led the AYSO Teal Tornadoes with 13 goals and helped the team earn a spot in the championship playoffs. The Tornadoes kicked through to the final round and defeated its Los Altos archrival, The Rampage, 1-0 along the way. At the team's awards banquet, Phillippe received the most valuable player and most direct attacking awards for her goal-scoring achievement and leadership. An Egan Intermediate eighth grader, she made the "A" honor roll for the fall semester with a 3.5 grade-point average.
